After some careless play in the ionion defense, Rodolfo Eleazar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Abalos. The ionion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Abalos should have stopped the shot. Brady Erickson made in the 6th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by ionion's Răzvan Maghiar. If Ilie Surugiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Răzvan Maghiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute, Thomas Knowles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the match, Toronto United's goal looked a bit too open when Niculae Moisescu came free, but Kauã Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kauã Paranaense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ilie Surugiu in the 18th minute. 19 minutes into the match, ionion's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Eleazar came free, but Fabio Abalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lou Walker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute Toronto United were awarded a corner. Donte Gaulin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Toronto United's Donte Gaulin to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabio Abalos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 34th minute Eugen Albeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kauã Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brady Erickson made in the 35th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Abraham Fitzgerald however managed to control. Lou Walker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fabio Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zikoranachidimma Bischhoffshausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After a rather tough play, Toronto United's Brady Erickson got a free kick in the 54th minute. Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilie Surugiu in the 59th minute of play. In the 60th minute of the match ionion got a corner. Toronto United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ilie Surugiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Kauã Paranaense came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by ionion's Ilie Surugiu. But to his dismay, Ilie Surugiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Kauã Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ilie Surugiu in the 64th minute of play. Brady Erickson made in the 67th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Abraham Fitzgerald however managed to control. Kauã Paranaense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilie Surugiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Ilie Surugiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Albeanu took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kauã Paranaense. Kauã Paranaense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. ionion's Fabio Abalos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save ionion from getting a goal against them. Fabio Abalos was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Rodolfo Eleazar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rodolfo Eleazar really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ilie Surugiu in the 90th minute of play forced Toronto United's goalkeeper Kauã Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95thth minute of the game Ilie Surugiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Toronto United's Kauã Paranaense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chants of Toronto United echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as ionion had held the ball for most of the match.
