After 2 played minutes Academia D3c3bal FC got a freekick which was hit by Nicolae Diaconu. 3 minutes into the match, Academia D3c3bal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Czempa came free, but Nechifor Baștină reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuel Sărăroiu hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Chorache Tofiño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Nechifor Baștină made a huge save. 8 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when John Forsberg came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Forsberg in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Academia D3c3bal FC's Martin Enache got a free kick in the 11th minute. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Forsberg in the 17th minute of play. Nechifor Baștină took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karol Czempa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Progresul Pitesti booed when Academia D3c3bal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Taşcă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Forsberg in the 29th minute of play. Chorache Tofiño received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Nechifor Baștină tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Academia D3c3bal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrei Ungureanu to maneuver through the defense. After 40 played minutes Academia D3c3bal FC got a freekick which was hit by Aristide Hogaș. Nechifor Baștină made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Vasile Blănaru sent off a good shot on target. Martin Tudor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Codrin Dersidan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute, Progresul Pitesti's Florin Logofătu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nechifor Baștină. Nechifor Baștină yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Forsberg to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Emanuel Sărăroiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Diaconu in the 55th minute of play. Nechifor Baștină made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmie Deinse in the 57th minute of play. Vasile Blănaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nechifor Baștină showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Czempa in the 63rd minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, Emanuel Sărăroiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia D3c3bal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Progresul Pitesti the free kick. In the 67th match minute, Academia D3c3bal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emanuel Sărăroiu to maneuver through the defense. Nechifor Baștină made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Czempa in the 69th minute of play. Karol Czempa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nechifor Baștină tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Progresul Pitesti getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Chorache Tofiño hit a great ball. Martin Tudor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Codrin Dersidan in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Progresul Pitesti fans cheered their team off the field, for while Academia D3c3bal FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
