A collision led to MIT Craiova getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Romeo Gherghescu hit a great ball. Calistrat Madgearu was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iwo Tamulewicz showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. In the 16th minute Tiberiu Caramarin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelian Butuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calistrat Madgearu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwo Tamulewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dacians Academy's goalkeeper Stelian Butuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stelian Butuc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After 36 minutes Dacians Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mihăiţă Ilarie who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Florin Seremet almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Dacians Academy's Stelian Butuc did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iwo Tamulewicz in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calistrat Madgearu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of MIT Craiova booed when Dacians Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siluna Flores didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iwo Tamulewicz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Dacians Academy's goalkeeper Stelian Butuc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tiberiu Caramarin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Stelian Butuc when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Iwo Tamulewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute MIT Craiova were awarded a corner. Mihăiţă Ilarie went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Dorin Banu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Stelian Butuc quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorin Banu in the 62nd minute of play forced Dacians Academy's goalkeeper Stelian Butuc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Nicodim Orășan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
