Radu Sărăroiu made in the 6th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tiberiu Caramarin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Păvăloae in the 7th minute of play forced MIT Craiova's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Păvăloae scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calistrat Madgearu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eric Păvăloae might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Calistrat Madgearu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eric Păvăloae ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Ninjas in Pyjamas booed when MIT Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Balotă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Păvăloae scored 0-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calistrat Madgearu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd minute Dorin Banu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cai Yue Guang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cai Yue Guang. Cai Yue Guang yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, Ninjas in Pyjamas's Eric Păvăloae sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Calistrat Madgearu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Eric Păvăloae came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calistrat Madgearu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Păvăloae in the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Florin Seremet in the 51st minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Cai Yue Guang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florin Seremet in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cai Yue Guang saved Ninjas in Pyjamas from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Florin Seremet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cai Yue Guang was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Eric Păvăloae managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ninjas in Pyjamas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Păvăloae was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Calistrat Madgearu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eric Păvăloae kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Eric Păvăloae took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Calistrat Madgearu. Calistrat Madgearu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Calistrat Madgearu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eric Păvăloae's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 78 minutes into the match, David Tunander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cai Yue Guang. Ninjas in Pyjamas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Tunander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 83rd minute Nicodim Orășan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cai Yue Guang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cai Yue Guang came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT Craiova's Fabian Geantă. But to his dismay, Fabian Geantă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. MIT Craiova's Bogdan Bucataru was substituted for Florin Seremet. The supporters of MIT Craiova booed when Ninjas in Pyjamas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrei Cosor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Ninjas in Pyjamas players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented MIT Craiova from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
