In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Santista CIMZ's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Santiago Mino made a precise shot to the right of Cláudio Taffarel. Academia Santista CIMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Cláudio Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Mino, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Santiago Mino scored 0-2 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cláudio Taffarel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Belmiro Pontes hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Academia Santista CIMZ's Cláudio Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Mino in the 18th minute of play. Santiago Mino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Rozarius in the 24th minute of play forced Academia Santista CIMZ's goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo's Santiago Mino. But to his dismay, Santiago Mino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Cláudio Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carolo Rozarius in the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Arnoldo Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Academia Santista CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Medina came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felipe Portalupi kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, Academia Santista CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Mino came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremias Aurken to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Arkadiusz Glowacki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 53 minutes into the match, Jeremias Aurken notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Palermo's Alfredo Joey. Alfredo Joey was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cláudio Taffarel was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Santiago Mino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Santiago Mino really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Palermo made a substitution. Marcelino Chaime replaced Carolo Rozarius. If Maximino Gonzalez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute Jeremias Aurken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Joey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Joey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruy Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Palermo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximino Gonzalez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Santiago Mino took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Cláudio Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. Palermo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
