Reko-Recko 03™'s Angelino Nueva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Reko-Recko 03™ from getting a goal against them. Angelino Nueva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhang Chen Chuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelino Nueva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Glauco Rodrigues in the 5th minute. Academia Santista CIMZ's Karl-Axel Jansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svali Bollason in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Reko-Recko 03™'s goal looked a bit too open when Mané Garrinchinha came free, but Angelino Nueva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karl-Axel Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svali Bollason in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th minute Virgílio Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Axel Jansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reko-Recko 03™'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gerardo Arce in the 13th minute. The corner led Reko-Recko 03™'s Virgílio Trigo to fire away a dangerous shot which Karl-Axel Jansson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute Zhang Chen Chuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelino Nueva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Svali Bollason took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl-Axel Jansson. Karl-Axel Jansson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 19 minutes, Virgílio Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reko-Recko 03™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgílio Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Svali Bollason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Reko-Recko 03™'s zone, Mané Garrinchinha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelino Nueva came out of the goal and Mané Garrinchinha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Leandro de Almeida in the 27th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Academia Santista CIMZ's Fernandão Esteves. Academia Santista CIMZ's Karl-Axel Jansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svali Bollason in the 34th minute of play. When Reko-Recko 03™'s Svali Bollason in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Academia Santista CIMZ's goalie prevented a goal. If Glauco Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Mané Garrinchinha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angelino Nueva. Reko-Recko 03™'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mané Garrinchinha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Mané Garrinchinha made a precise shot to the right of Angelino Nueva. Reko-Recko 03™'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hao Feng Yu got free with Karl-Axel Jansson in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute, Cafu Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reko-Recko 03™ made a substitution. Glauco Breckenfeld replaced Gerardo Arce. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Garrinchinha in the 78th minute of play forced Reko-Recko 03™'s goalkeeper Angelino Nueva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xande Cabezudo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Karl-Axel Jansson made a huge save. In the 82nd match minute, Reko-Recko 03™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 84 minutes, Mané Garrinchinha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Academia Santista CIMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Reko-Recko 03™ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
