When Ed Palsma fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Ed Palsma a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of A.D. Alcorcón booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ed Palsma didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute, Emil Kyurpanov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 26 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Arixo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernan Arixo during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th minute Nereo Acosta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Wessel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the A.D. Alcorcón defense, Dolf Schoonderwoerd kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurino Serena. The A.D. Alcorcón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurino Serena should have stopped the shot. Delmar Mayor hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After having played for 33 minutes, Ed Palsma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Underdogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ed Palsma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurino Serena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piearres Olalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes A.D. Alcorcón's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ed Palsma who took care of the corner kick. The Underdogs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.D. Alcorcón the free kick. The supporters of A.D. Dolf Schoonderwoerd ran back to his position shaking his head. Maurino Serena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 43rd minute of play. Maurino Serena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 45th minute of the match.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Dolf Schoonderwoerd got free with Maurino Serena in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A.D. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Underdogs eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
