The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Peres got free with Ata Necmi in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adhemar Arce scored 0-4 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Taffarel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Carlos Taffarel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlos Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrianinho Capixaba, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Academia Santista CIMZ's Severino Koehler got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th minute Acácio Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson Tasso in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inácio Peres was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Academia Santista CIMZ booed when BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jailson Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Acácio Tinoco's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Acácio Tinoco had several of the Academia Santista CIMZ's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-15 score and a disappointed Carlos Taffarel as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 86th minute, BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's Adrianinho Capixaba ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Taffarel. Carlos Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-16. Adhemar Arce received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Acácio Tinoco ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the match, Adrianinho Capixaba dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Taffarel, 0-18. BRASIL DE PELOTAS 4EVER's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
