SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Korneliusz Sobania in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Alberigo Sessa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sylwester Domeradzki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sylwester Domeradzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Sessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Korneliusz Sobania's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Timo Courtois skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sylwester Domeradzki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 43 minutes into the match, Wiktoria Zajafka's goal looked a bit too open when Don Merlot came free, but Sylwester Domeradzki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Timo Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Preca in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Don Merlot made the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Nechifor Măcrineanu in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SSV Ulm 1846's Afonso Silveira. Timo Courtois made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Preca in the 54th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Don Merlot kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sylwester Domeradzki. That made the score 0-3 in the 58 minute of play. In the 61st minute, Giuseppe Preca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Wiktoria Zajafka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 66 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Preca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Timo Courtois was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 70th minute of the game Sotiris Alexandropoulos made a throw-in which Alberigo Sessa played forward. Patrik Tørnstrøm charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrik Tørnstrøm the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 73 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Preca came free, but Timo Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Don Merlot could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Sylwester Domeradzki made a huge save. After 79 minutes, Don Merlot mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SSV Ulm 1846 and the Wiktoria Zajafka players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 79 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Don Merlot. Alberigo Sessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sylwester Domeradzki having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Alberigo Sessa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sylwester Domeradzki, 2-4. SSV Ulm 1846's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
