Timo Courtois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reinholds Jaunzems in the 8th minute of the match. Jānis Lielais made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Don Merlot sent off a good shot on target. Delmiro Jayvier kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Alberigo Sessa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jānis Lielais came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberigo Sessa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 15th minute. Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Sessa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SSV Ulm 1846's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Olof Lilja in the 20th minute. SSV Ulm 1846's Alberigo Sessa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jānis Lielais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alberigo Sessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jānis Lielais having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Indris Tomass came free, but Timo Courtois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Don Merlot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 minutes SK Annenieki's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sven-Olof Lilja who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Alberigo Sessa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jānis Lielais quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the SSV Ulm 1846 defense, Artūrs Sagalats kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Timo Courtois. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Timo Courtois should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Renāts Skipors in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SSV Ulm 1846's Afonso Silveira. In the 45th minute, SSV Ulm 1846's Alex Kopf seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Alex Kopf the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of SSV Ulm 1846 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alex Kopf had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in SSV Ulm 1846 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! SSV Ulm 1846:s Timo Courtois showed great skill when he stopped Indris Tomass:s penalty. 2-2 came in the 48th minute when Indris Tomass all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Timo Courtois.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Don Merlot was the one to do the kick off. Artūrs Sagalats could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Timo Courtois made a huge save. In the 59thth minute of the game Don Merlot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Don Merlot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jānis Lielais read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Jānis Lielais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Merlot in the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Merlot in the 76th minute of play forced SK Annenieki's goalkeeper Jānis Lielais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SK Annenieki made a substitution. Ingus Rencis replaced Drosmis Kalnaiza. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Afonso Silveira hit a great ball. 86 minutes into the match, Don Merlot notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of SK Annenieki's Jānis Lielais. Jānis Lielais was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Timo Courtois stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artūrs Sagalats's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artūrs Sagalats, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 94th minute, Don Merlot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jānis Lielais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Don Merlot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
