PHOENIX SC's Ray Clemence proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save PHOENIX SC from getting a goal against them. Ronan McCunn struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Jānis Lielais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PHOENIX SC. Jānis Lielais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Hendrickx in the 15th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Haji Bandell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Hendrickx in the 26th minute of play forced SK Annenieki's goalkeeper Jānis Lielais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PHOENIX SC appealed in vain for a penalty, the referee looked over at the linesman, but the flag stayed down. No Penalty. A collision led to SK Annenieki getting a freekick after 70 minutes play.
