The corner went over the outstretched arms of Vykans Vikingar's goalie and right to Attila Toldi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Vykans Vikingar's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ray Clemence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Micucci in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, PHOENIX SC's Frederico Hendrickx nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcus Ekrot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Martin Mutumba struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Ray Clemence didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vykans Vikingar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Remicio in the 90th minute of play forced PHOENIX SC's goalkeeper Ray Clemence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronan McCunn in the 92nd minute of play. PHOENIX SC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
