Alcorcón's zone, Tiberiu Caramarin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurino Serena came out of the goal and Tiberiu Caramarin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tiberiu Caramarin fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MIT Craiova's protests and gave Tiberiu Caramarin a yellow card for diving instead. After 45 played minutes MIT Craiova got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Caramarin. When Tiberiu Caramarin came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the MIT Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiberiu Caramarin couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Belo Alvarez made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Tiberiu Caramarin came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.D. Alcorcón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mihăiţă Ilarie was slow to take the kick. During this time MIT Craiova's players had a chance to rest. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Maurino Serena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 64th minute Belo Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiberiu Caramarin in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Maurino Serena, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of MIT Craiova booed when A.D. Alcorcón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Vadillos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicodim Orășan in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurino Serena prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
