The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillen Mijangos to maneuver through the defense. Zlatko Ibrahimović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guillen Mijangos struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Olaf Geiger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universitario. Matro Perramon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iosif Vornic in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Dariusz Nalaskowski made a precise shot to the right of Matro Perramon. Universitario's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 26th minute, Zlatko Ibrahimović ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matro Perramon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 30 minutes into the match, Iosif Vornic had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matro Perramon. Universitario's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iosif Vornic was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Universitario's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Dariusz Nalaskowski scored to the left of an out of position Matro Perramon, making the score, 4-0. In the 40th play minute Zlatko Ibrahimović came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Matro Perramon. 5-0.

The audience was convinced that Zlatko Ibrahimović's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matro Perramon was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 56th minute, Iosif Vornic ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Matro Perramon was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Universitario's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fire Devils the free kick. 84 minutes into the game, Fire Devils's Zlatko Ibrahimović nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matro Perramon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. In the 95th minute, Iosif Vornic left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fire Devils fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 11-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fire Devils fully deserved thier win.
