The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robben Spoelberchs in the 4th minute of play forced Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Jess Carnduff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Robben Spoelberchs notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Alemannia Aachen's Jess Carnduff. Jess Carnduff was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Mathias-Alexander Leers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alemannia Aachen's supporters rose to their feet, but Mathias-Alexander Leers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wincent Dropinski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 18 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's goal looked a bit too open when Robben Spoelberchs came free, but Jess Carnduff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wincent Dropinski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Müller in the 20th minute of play. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Alemannia Aachen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfredo Stefano was slow to take the kick. During this time Castanheiro SC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Manfredo Quirino heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Valter Xabat kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Wincent Dropinski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Müller in the 29th minute. Alemannia Aachen's attentive Mateusz Rydel managed to snatch the ball when Gilberto Lopes made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. Jess Carnduff dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After having played for 48 minutes, Daniel Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Mathias-Alexander Leers made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Fernando Toscano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Jess Carnduff was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Alemannia Aachen's Jess Carnduff got control of the ball when Robben Spoelberchs tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute Alfredo Stefano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jess Carnduff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute Mathias-Alexander Leers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincent Dropinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wincent Dropinski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathias-Alexander Leers in the 78th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Prestes came free, but Jess Carnduff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Alemannia Aachen's Manfred Kottsieper got a free kick in the 80th minute. Jess Carnduff made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Robben Spoelberchs sent off a good shot on target. 86 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Jess Carnduff had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robben Spoelberchs. In the 90th minute, Castanheiro SC's Robben Spoelberchs ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jess Carnduff. Jess Carnduff yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. The Castanheiro SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
