An unexpectedly hard shot by Recep Guftar in the 6th minute of play forced Deportivo Medievales's goalkeeper Zhao Ran Ming to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Deportivo Medievales's Augustinas Gavorskis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luis Galarza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Deportivo Medievales booed when Kalatakaya F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helmut Gutiérrez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Medievales's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alejandro Chumacero ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Deportivo Medievales's goalie and right to Vali Romoşan. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Deportivo Medievales's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 27 played minutes Deportivo Medievales got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Sazon. 28 minutes in the game, Recep Guftar dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Luis Galarza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustinas Gavorskis in the 34th minute of play. If Jeremías Tindall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
