Jerónimo Furtado started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Du Yuan Chao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rosario Escarza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dabi Saens in the 6th minute. Rosario Escarza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dabi Saens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute União Sport Clube Paredes were awarded a corner. Dabi Saens went to the cornerflag to take it. Baldomero Chano hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Alexandre Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Rosario Escarza made a huge save. After 21 minutes, Anatolio Lozano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LVCVS AVGVSTI and the União Sport Clube Paredes players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 23rd minute of play forced LVCVS AVGVSTI's goalkeeper Rosario Escarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, União Sport Clube Paredes's Rosario Escarza threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jerónimo Furtado, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Du Yuan Chao in the 24th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Du Yuan Chao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edwin van der Sar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Chano came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dabi Saens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Ronny Skytt made a precise shot to the right of Edwin van der Sar. União Sport Clube Paredes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 46 played minutes LVCVS AVGVSTI got a freekick which was hit by Anatolio Lozano. The supporters of União Sport Clube Paredes booed when LVCVS AVGVSTI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Skytt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Du Yuan Chao to make the kick off. After 54th play minutes Baldomero Chano shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Edwin van der Sar and just under the crossbar into goal. If Alexandre Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerónimo Furtado in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rosario Escarza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rosario Escarza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Santana in the 68th minute of the match. LVCVS AVGVSTI made a substitution. Quilino Velasco replaced Diómedes Sánchez. LVCVS AVGVSTI's Dominic Toretto was substituted for Aníbal Ríos. Jerónimo Furtado scored 2-3 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rosario Escarza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandre Santana in the 81st minute of play forced LVCVS AVGVSTI's goalkeeper Rosario Escarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Quilo in the 85th minute of play forced LVCVS AVGVSTI's goalkeeper Rosario Escarza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rosario Escarza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Santana in the 86th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Roman Quilo put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Rosario Escarza. LVCVS AVGVSTI's Rosario Escarza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Jerónimo Furtado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Roman Quilo managed to get in a good position for a shot. União Sport Clube Paredes's supporters rose to their feet, but Roman Quilo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosario Escarza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. União Sport Clube Paredes had won after a very even match.
