A collision led to Club El Progreso getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Stephan Testaferrata Bonici hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Agustín Álvarez put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benjamin Tino. In the 13th minute of the game Brent-Jan Van den Driesch made a throw-in which Agustín Álvarez played forward. Benjamin Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Álvarez in the 19th minute of play. Cleto Cordaro took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christophe Troxler. Christophe Troxler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Álvarez got free with Benjamin Tino in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benjamin Tino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillelme Lomas in the 29th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Montevideo City Torque's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Christophe Troxler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephan Testaferrata Bonici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Christophe Troxler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match Montevideo City Torque got a corner. Club El Progreso's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Agustín Álvarez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Christophe Troxler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Papa, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Agustín Álvarez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benjamin Tino having to make a save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Montevideo City Torque booed when Club El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Kranevitter didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute Cristian Leizaur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Tino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustín Álvarez in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Tino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Portela made in the 60th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Indiana Jones. Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Álvarez in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Stephan Testaferrata Bonici left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club El Progreso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 69th minute, Gu Sha Zhen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Álvarez in the 74th minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christophe Troxler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indiana Jones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Leizaur in the 82nd minute of the match. Indiana Jones might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christophe Troxler. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Indiana Jones ran back to his position shaking his head. Christophe Troxler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, Brent-Jan Van den Driesch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brent-Jan Van den Driesch kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Indiana Jones fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Brent-Jan Van den Driesch got a throw-in 93 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Reuben Meade. 96 minutes in the game Bonifacio Txindoki did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Indiana Jones. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club El Progreso eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
