Silver Squad AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guido Vissenaeken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A throw-in in the 9th minute of the game was made by Laurence Soens with Loid De Keuster as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Silver Squad AFC booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaspar Van Den Broeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waud De Geyter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Vissenaeken in the 12th minute of play. Guido Vissenaeken might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waud De Geyter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guido Vissenaeken ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, Guido Vissenaeken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Waud De Geyter. In the 22nd minute Damazy Radzyminski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vítor Baia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Loid De Keuster could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Vítor Baia made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 25th minute of play forced Silver Squad AFC's goalkeeper Waud De Geyter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute of the match Brugge United got a corner. Silver Squad AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaspar Van Den Broeck ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ümit Karan was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 29th minute Guido Vissenaeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waud De Geyter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Frans Van Caubergen came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Carberry in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Silver Squad AFC's Benjamin Carberry ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Brugge United's Vítor Baia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Brugge United's Vítor Baia got control of the ball when Benjamin Carberry tried to sneak it across the goal line. Laurence Soens charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Laurence Soens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brugge United's attentive Laurențiu Roşculeţ managed to snatch the ball when Laurence Soens made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The wind increased when Guido Vissenaeken made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Carberry in the 54th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loid De Keuster in the 56th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Henrik Ooms got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vítor Baia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Silver Squad AFC's Waud De Geyter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Silver Squad AFC from getting a goal against them. Silver Squad AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Guido Vissenaeken scored to the left of an out of position Waud De Geyter, making the score, 1-3. 65 minutes into the match, Bror Litenboks notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Brugge United's Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. Brugge United's Vítor Baia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Carberry in the 73rd minute of play. Silver Squad AFC's Waud De Geyter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Silver Squad AFC from getting a goal against them. Arnauld Van Impe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Waud De Geyter came out and tried to block the shot, but Arnauld Van Impe slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 76th minute. In the 82nd minute, Izydor Czysta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dries Philipsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Waud De Geyter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. With a little luck, Silver Squad AFC's Waud De Geyter got control of the ball when Arnauld Van Impe tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Arnauld Van Impe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Waud De Geyter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 87th minute. With his leg Waud De Geyter managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Silver Squad AFC's Rogério Paiva got a free kick in the 94th minute. Waud De Geyter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dries Philipsen in the 95th minute. Izydor Czysta's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Izydor Czysta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Brugge United booed when Silver Squad AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izydor Czysta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Brugge United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
