After 8 minutes, Arthur Leyman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portus Ganda and the The Underdogs players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Portus Ganda getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Arthur Leyman hit a great ball. The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Konrad Knopek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Wessel having to interfere. Tony Vanbuyten came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd. But to his dismay, Dolf Schoonderwoerd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Tony Vanbuyten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Konrad Knopek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Dolf Schoonderwoerd's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Vanbuyten was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Portus Ganda were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after The Underdogs's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jüri Djorkaeff took the corner. The corner ended in Ye Yang Ao almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but The Underdogs's Jan Wessel did a great save. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Underdogs fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! Konrad Knopek walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After the first half The Underdogs were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dolf Schoonderwoerd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Vanbuyten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Tony Vanbuyten made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Dolf Schoonderwoerd sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd match minute, Portus Ganda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jüri Djorkaeff to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 64 in the game by Dolf Schoonderwoerd from a close distance when the talented Tony Vanbuyten managed to make a qualified save. Portus Ganda's players were relieved. After taking down the ball on The Underdogs's corner Ed Palsma fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tony Vanbuyten quite easily take care of the ball. Dolf Schoonderwoerd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Vanbuyten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st minute, The Underdogs's Dolf Schoonderwoerd ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tony Vanbuyten. Tony Vanbuyten yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. In the 75th minute, Dolf Schoonderwoerd made a precise shot to the right of Tony Vanbuyten. Portus Ganda's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Portus Ganda's Tony Vanbuyten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Portus Ganda from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Konrad Knopek in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Wessel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Konrad Knopek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Portus Ganda supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching The Underdogs's performance. The match ended with a win for The Underdogs.
