Rıdvan Balıkçı started the match with the kick off. The throw-in from Agamenón do Nascimento in the 3rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by 1930 Bafraspor's Raik Renan. Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Batıkan Muhsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rıdvan Balıkçı in the 14th minute of play. Çakır Alyakut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atilla Açıkalın in the 16th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Rıdvan Balıkçı managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1930 Bafraspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Rıdvan Balıkçı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Batıkan Muhsin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the match, Atilla Açıkalın had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Çakır Alyakut. 1930 Bafraspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Atilla Açıkalın was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by Martin Johansson in the 33rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Mustafa İzzet Hazer. Martin Johansson's late challenge caught a Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Johansson helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Johansson hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Atilla Açıkalın sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Çakır Alyakut narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1930 Bafraspor's Rıdvan Balıkçı got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Atilla Açıkalın to make the kick off. Raik Renan made in the 54th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Saruhan Uygu immediately put the ball in play. If Atilla Açıkalın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 73 minutes into the match, 1930 Bafraspor's goal looked a bit too open when Atilla Açıkalın came free, but Çakır Alyakut reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Batıkan Muhsin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rıdvan Balıkçı, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Çakır Alyakut stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Atilla Açıkalın's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Batıkan Muhsin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raik Renan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Tᴜʀᴋᴇʏ Lɪᴏɴꜱ FC's Ulf Bokelund got a free kick in the 91st minute. 1930 Bafraspor made a substitution. Henk Veerman replaced Rıdvan Balıkçı. The 1930 Bafraspor fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when 1930 Bafraspor's Henk Veerman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
