Rosendo Balesio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Theobald, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Leukothoe Sakelaris kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving István Détári. That made the score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, AC Rangers's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Theobald came free, but Rosendo Balesio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Paulo Theobald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rosendo Balesio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Hugo van der Struijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Buenos y Malos Ayres's István Détári got control of the ball when Guido Ler tried to sneak it across the goal line. István Détári was a little too slow when Guido Ler got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 2-1. István Détári took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leukothoe Sakelaris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, AC Rangers's Leukothoe Sakelaris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that István Détári narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Qu Jian Qi kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Leukothoe Sakelaris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but István Détári saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The supporters of Buenos y Malos Ayres booed when AC Rangers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Quexal didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonatan Palmkvist got free with Rosendo Balesio in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rosendo Balesio made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Jonatan Palmkvist sent off a good shot on target. Yücel Özakıncı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without István Détári having to interfere. Qu Jian Qi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rosendo Balesio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Qu Jian Qi. AC Rangers's Amancio Inocente was substituted for Emiliano Aznaro. Many of Buenos y Malos Ayres's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Buenos y Malos Ayres may have spent more time on the ball, but AC Rangers were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
