With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aquiles Xabat in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delmar Vermudo saved san isidro from getting behind. Delmar Vermudo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Simon Oihan's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Delmar Vermudo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Xabat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Dacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Delmar Vermudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Fonda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute, Aquiles Xabat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gösta Kihlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gösta Kihlberg to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Peñaloza were awarded a corner. Eduardo Castro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Delmar Vermudo made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Simon Oihan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delmar Vermudo was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, san isidro's Gualterio Ponc got a free kick in the 91st minute. Alexandre Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Fonda in the 93rd minute of the match. If Simon Oihan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peñaloza's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
