Iulian Doinaș started the match with the kick off. Tomé Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leontin Apostu in the 6th minute of the match. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Teodor Romeo went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 21 minutes into the game, Iulian Doinaș was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paralia Athens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Agua Santa the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Abel Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Agua Santa's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Paes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Nicolescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomé Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petre Maghiran, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petre Maghiran in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomé Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Petre Maghiran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laércio Neves made a kick off. Cristian Nicolescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Agua Santa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomé Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Petre Maghiran went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 61 minutes, Petre Maghiran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paralia Athens's supporters crossed their fingers, but Petre Maghiran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Agua Santa's goalkeeper Tomé Mota had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petre Maghiran. Tomé Mota made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Doinaș in the 67th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Agua Santa's Laércio Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristian Nicolescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Enrique Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Paralia Athens getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Vasile Enciulescu hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Paralia Athens's zone, William Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Nicolescu came out of the goal and William Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the game, Enrique Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Cristian Nicolescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
