When Benedicto Espiridion fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VERΛ's protests and gave Benedicto Espiridion a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes VERΛ got a freekick which was hit by Benedicto Espiridion. After having played for 19 minutes, Paulo Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VERΛ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Gonzalez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, VERΛ's Benedicto Espiridion got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 28 played minutes VERΛ got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Caradaro. A collision led to VERΛ getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Anastasio Tab hit a great ball. Anibal Fernendo struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Delmar Bartoleme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palermo. Marcial Dantae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Caradaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Garikoitz in the 37th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Marcial Dantae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisito Caradaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Marcial Dantae tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, VERΛ's Paulo Gonzalez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcial Dantae made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Marcial Dantae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Garikoitz in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Delmar Bartoleme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prospero Rubio in the 56th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Marcial Dantae successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Palermo's Marcial Dantae proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. Danilo Garikoitz scored 1-4 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcial Dantae, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisito Caradaro got free with Marcial Dantae in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paulo Gonzalez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcial Dantae didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luisito Caradaro went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. When the match was over VERΛ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Palermo throughout the match.
