The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Delmar Bartoleme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Vie in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Åsnes booed when VERΛ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasio Tab didn't get a good kick on the ball. Petter Vartdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Bartoleme having to interfere. A collision led to Åsnes getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Jonathan Vie hit a great ball. A collision led to VERΛ getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Tiburcio Salvatore hit a great ball. When David Reitan came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Åsnes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Reitan couldn't finish the play. If Luisito Caradaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 played minutes VERΛ got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Gonzalez. Delmar Bartoleme made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Jonathan Vie sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the match, Jonathan Vie notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of VERΛ's Delmar Bartoleme. Delmar Bartoleme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute Danilo Garikoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonathan Vie in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delmar Bartoleme prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Delmar Bartoleme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Vartdal's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 70th minute Petter Vartdal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Bartoleme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Morten Sundseth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Reitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Bartoleme having to interfere. In the 80th minute Petter Vartdal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Bartoleme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, VERΛ's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Vie came free, but Delmar Bartoleme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danilo Garikoitz during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, VERΛ's Danilo Garikoitz got a free kick in the 84th minute. Delmar Bartoleme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Vartdal's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, Tiburcio Salvatore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delmar Bartoleme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Vie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Morten Sundseth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Bartoleme having to interfere. In the 93rd match minute, Åsnes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Kristian Fosse to maneuver through the defense. Delmar Bartoleme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Vie, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the VERΛ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Åsnes.
