After 6 played minutes Espen Steelers got a freekick which was hit by Renato Azara. Herbert Maina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luizinho Neves in the 7th minute. Herbert Maina didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sabo D Agostino went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Zac Ba Loua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Maina having to interfere. Andrew Lepage scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo de Mendonça, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Paulo de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrew Lepage in the 23rd minute of play. Herbert Maina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zac Ba Loua, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. A collision led to Rio Verde F.C CIMZ getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Arlindo de Alcântara hit a great ball. The supporters of Espen Steelers booed when Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes, Espen Steelers's Simon Sonevoga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo de Mendonça came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Espen Steelers reached it. Herbert Maina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christoffer Kempel in the 43rd minute. The audience was convinced that Zac Ba Loua's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herbert Maina was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ferris Bieber to make the kick off. After taking down the ball on Espen Steelers's corner Fidel Righetti fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Paulo de Mendonça quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zac Ba Loua in the 68th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Herbert Maina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
