The coaching staff of Brunatni Bełchatów protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Przemyslaw Niziolek had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Christoph Heise made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Konstanty Gniewek sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Henrik Gorges during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrzej Kosakowski got free with Christoph Heise in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute Lothar Bannert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobald Byczewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrzej Kosakowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoph Heise having to interfere. Konstanty Gniewek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teobald Byczewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrik Gorges, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Andrzej Kosakowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andrzej Kosakowski struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Christoph Heise didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brunatni Bełchatów. Burkhard Männer ran over to the corner to take the kick. 72 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Lucjan Arendarski came free, but Christoph Heise reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Marcus Kraatz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Brunatni Bełchatów's goalkeeper Teobald Byczewski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lothar Bannert. Teobald Byczewski was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Henrik Gorges showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 94 minute of play.
