The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rajmond Beets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Forssell in the 17th minute of play forced SK Dreigoten's goalkeeper Bill Severyns to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bill Severyns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Forssell in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to SSC Ambrosini getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Karl-Michael Ekrot hit a great ball. SSC Ambrosini's Martin Hedberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save SSC Ambrosini from getting a goal against them. After having played for 36 minutes, Piet Omblet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Dreigoten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Piet Omblet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alf Kullgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 39 minutes, Jo Vissenakens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SK Dreigoten and the SSC Ambrosini players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdemar Åberg made a kick off. When Stein Vercouteren fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Dreigoten's protests and gave Stein Vercouteren a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes SSC Ambrosini got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Askestät. Bill Severyns came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by SSC Ambrosini's Joel Forssell. But to his dismay, Joel Forssell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Martin Hedberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loui De Wulf, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 80 played minutes SSC Ambrosini got a freekick which was hit by Kasper Kristiansson. 86 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's Piet Omblet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Hedberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
