In the 10th minute, Astillero del Guayas's Alfredo Rioboo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Melquiades Salvatore. Melquiades Salvatore yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Blanco Vidales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Cresconio in the 13th minute of play. Blanco Vidales showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Jaunti, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Diego Carredano kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 20 minutes, Donato Nalo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Atlanta and the Astillero del Guayas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Donato Nalo hit a great ball. Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Atlanta from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Cresconio in the 27th minute of play forced Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Blanco Vidales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Astillero del Guayas booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Nalo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melquiades Salvatore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Rioboo in the 39th minute of the match. After 41 minutes of play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Bonifacio Cresconio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Blanco Vidales was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47thth minute of the game Alfredo Rioboo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Alfredo Rioboo made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Asensio Aranguiz. In the 55thth minute of the game Bonifacio Cresconio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Astillero del Guayas's Blanco Vidales was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Blanco Vidales made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Bonifacio Cresconio sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Astillero del Guayas defense, Bonifacio Cresconio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Blanco Vidales. The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Blanco Vidales should have stopped the shot. Blanco Vidales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bonifacio Cresconio in the 70th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Artemio Jaunti notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Astillero del Guayas's Blanco Vidales. Blanco Vidales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Bonifacio Cresconio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Salvatore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Rioboo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Diego Carredano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Melquiades Salvatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute Alfredo Rioboo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Salvatore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atlético Atlanta's Melquiades Salvatore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Rioboo in the 88th minute of play. Bonifacio Cresconio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Club Atlético Atlanta's Donato Nalo got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Donato Nalo off the ground. Donato Nalo hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Club Atlético Atlanta's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
