Carlo Colaneri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Souza in the 24th minute of the match. Agnaldo Vargas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Agnaldo Vargas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlo Colaneri was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Carlo Colaneri made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Paulo Renato Souza sent off a good shot on target. Dudu Queiroz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Dudu Queiroz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Seggiano's Carlo Colaneri did a great save. Diego Cerezo might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlo Colaneri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Cerezo ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Agnaldo Vargas made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Agnaldo Vargas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlo Colaneri. Seggiano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agnaldo Vargas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Nova Iguaçu MZFC made a substitution. Deivid Queirós replaced Dudu Queiroz. Seggiano's Carlo Colaneri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deivid Queirós in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 67th minute of play forced Seggiano's goalkeeper Carlo Colaneri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes, Joel Lopes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Iguaçu MZFC and the Seggiano players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlo Colaneri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agnaldo Vargas went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Seggiano defense, Diego Cerezo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlo Colaneri. The Seggiano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlo Colaneri should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Agnaldo Vargas sped through Seggiano's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlo Colaneri. Carlo Colaneri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Batista in the 89th minute of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Agnaldo Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Seggiano's Carlo Colaneri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. There was no doubt that Nova Iguaçu MZFC were the better team. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
