Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Dijoux in the 3rd minute of play. Bambang Sagala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Dijoux, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pape Lillo in the 8th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Bambang Sagala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 8 minutes, Alex Dijoux made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 11th minute Alex Dijoux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bambang Sagala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zorros del Desierto's Clark Kent proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Zorros del Desierto from getting a goal against them. Clark Kent made an important save on a dangerous shot by Blagoy Gardakov in the 12th minute. The audience was convinced that Alex Dijoux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bambang Sagala was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Zorros del Desierto's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastián Roco in the 17th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Pape Lillo heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The supporters of Estudiantes de Merida FC booed when Zorros del Desierto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Alberto Spinetta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clark Kent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelino Quinten, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Bambang Sagala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Dijoux in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24thth minute of the game Alex Dijoux who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estudiantes de Merida FC's Bambang Sagala was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 minutes, Blagoy Gardakov made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Zorros del Desierto's Clark Kent tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Alex Dijoux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bambang Sagala was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Pape Lillo made a precise shot to the right of Bambang Sagala. Estudiantes de Merida FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After having played for 46 minutes, Pape Lillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zorros del Desierto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pape Lillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th minute of the match, Marcelino Quinten tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Clark Kent saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Dijoux to strike the kick off in the second half. Clark Kent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blagoy Gardakov in the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the match, Zorros del Desierto's goal looked a bit too open when Blagoy Gardakov came free, but Clark Kent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alex Dijoux had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Zorros del Desierto's Alex Dijoux in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalie prevented a goal. Alex Dijoux recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Dijoux got free with Bambang Sagala in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 75 minutes, Cai Jian Chang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zorros del Desierto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cai Jian Chang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blagoy Gardakov in the 76th minute of play forced Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Clark Kent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Dijoux received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bambang Sagala came out and tried to block the shot, but Alex Dijoux slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 78th minute. Zorros del Desierto made a substitution. Quique Cordoba replaced Alex Dijoux. Quique Cordoba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Bambang Sagala made a huge save. Quique Cordoba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bambang Sagala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Blagoy Gardakov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clark Kent. Zorros del Desierto's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Blagoy Gardakov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. Estudiantes de Merida FC made a substitution. Emiliano Lesardo replaced Honorio Lario. In the 93rd minute, Gustaaf Van Den Wijngaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Zorros del Desierto eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
