An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Zárate in the 44th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Bambang Sagala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Lesardo to make the kick off. Ove Lekberg hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match.
