Einar Holmberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Inautzi's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. André Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Txurio in the 25th minute of play. Einar Holmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Inautzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Marcelino Txurio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but André Zonta made a huge save. Maximino Lope took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Einar Holmberg. Einar Holmberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Palermo was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of El retorno del Pincha booed when Ascacibar-Pérez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Ferran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christopher Birchall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Einar Holmberg having to interfere. In the 86th minute Martín Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Zonta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ascacibar-Pérez's Alonzo Eron got a free kick in the 87th minute. Mercado Paulista struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Einar Holmberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El retorno del Pincha. After 89 played minutes Ascacibar-Pérez got a freekick which was hit by Luis Ferran. Christopher Birchall kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Sven Thorsberg succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 96th playminute.
