In the 11th minute Damaso Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hong Qing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petre Traian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Donose, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Congo Bongo defense, Alvar Ponce kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Petre Traian. The Congo Bongo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Petre Traian should have stopped the shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Atlético Lea Papá fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! Hong Qing came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Congo Bongo's Özalp Yavuzalp. But to his dismay, Özalp Yavuzalp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A hard shot 34 in the game by Damaso Sancho from a close distance when the talented Hong Qing managed to make a qualified save. Club Atlético Lea Papá's players were relieved. A collision led to Club Atlético Lea Papá getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. José Antonio Chamot hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Damaso Sancho notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Club Atlético Lea Papá's Hong Qing. Hong Qing was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 44th minute, José Antonio Chamot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Alvar Ponce quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Wu Hong Ning, made in the 47th minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 74th minute of the match Club Atlético Lea Papá got a corner. Congo Bongo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafael Delgado ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Rafael Delgado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Congo Bongo's Petre Traian did a great save. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Petre Traian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnaldo Oidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Antonio Chamot made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Congo Bongo's Andrew Specht. Congo Bongo's Iker Atarrabi got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Oidor in the 90th minute of play forced Club Atlético Lea Papá's goalkeeper Hong Qing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Congo Bongo's Arnaldo Oidor got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arnaldo Oidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
