İrfan-Can Eğribayat had great luck who in the 5thth minute grab hold of the ball when István Juhász from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Balázs Berta got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some careless play in the Gyál United defense, Tanju Çolak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sándor Jászberényi. The Gyál United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sándor Jászberényi should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Gyál United's zone, Nuralp Karabugra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sándor Jászberényi came out of the goal and Nuralp Karabugra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. İrfan-Can Eğribayat made an important save on a dangerous shot by István Juhász in the 25th minute. İrfan-Can Eğribayat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from István Juhász in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zoltán Ebedli during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 29th match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zoltán Ebedli to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 30 minutes, Tanju Çolak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nevşehirspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tanju Çolak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferenc Baróti's late challenge caught a Nevşehirspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferenc Baróti helped the player get up and apologised. Ferenc Baróti hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. A hard shot 35 in the game by István Juhász from a close distance when the talented İrfan-Can Eğribayat managed to make a qualified save. Nevşehirspor's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Balázs Berta got free with İrfan-Can Eğribayat in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Nevşehirspor were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuralp Karabugra to make the kick off. After 84 minutes, Kılıçalp Çerağ mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nevşehirspor and the Gyál United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gyál United made a substitution. Ferenc Vass replaced Balázs Berta. When İrfan-Can Kahveci fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nevşehirspor's protests and gave İrfan-Can Kahveci a yellow card for diving instead. In the 86th minute, İrfan-Can Kahveci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nuralp Karabugra during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nuralp Karabugra kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Gyál United's Ferenc Vass got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Gyál United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nevşehirspor's performance. The match ended with a win for Nevşehirspor.
