Virgílio Salgado kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Donato de Sena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Sarracino in the 12th minute. With a little luck, Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's Donato de Sena got control of the ball when Bonifacio Cresconio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlinhos Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. In the 36th minute, Anselmo Sarracino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rene Luzea during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes Club Atlético Atlanta got a freekick which was hit by Rene Luzea. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlinhos Baiano was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Artemio Jaunti made a precise shot to the right of Donato de Sena. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. After 54 played minutes Clube Atl. Taquaritinga got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Guimarães. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's zone, Bonifacio Cresconio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Donato de Sena came out of the goal and Bonifacio Cresconio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Clube Atl. Taquaritinga booed when Club Atlético Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Cresconio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Bonifacio Cresconio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato de Sena. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bonifacio Cresconio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. 66 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goalkeeper Melquiades Salvatore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Andrade. In the 75th minute, Artemio Jaunti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato de Sena was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Melquiades Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erivaldo Vergílio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Cresconio in the 85th minute of play forced Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's goalkeeper Donato de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute of the game, Pedro Rojelio landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 85 minutes into the game, Miguel Varela was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clube Atl. Taquaritinga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Atlanta the free kick. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Clube Atl.
