Cesinha Vieira charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesinha Vieira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rodriguinho Duarte hit a great ball. After 18 played minutes, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Sérgio de Sena shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederico Smith came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Imbituba - FSCMZ reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guilherme Souza in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Smith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ivo Ramalho came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube do Remo MZ's Edinho Vasconcelos. But to his dismay, Edinho Vasconcelos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Ricardinho Simão came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Clube do Remo MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardinho Simão couldn't finish the play. In the 28th match minute, Clube do Remo MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodriguinho Duarte to maneuver through the defense. Frederico Smith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When Gernando Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube do Remo MZ's protests and gave Gernando Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Souza in the 35th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edinho Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Ramalho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Samuca Camargo got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 46th minute, Cesinha Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ivo Ramalho got control of the ball when Toninho de Mendonça tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The wind increased when Cesinha Vieira made the kick off in the second half. Evandro Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evandro Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Guilherme Souza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Frederico Smith when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 58 minutes, Guilherme Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imbituba - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guilherme Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivo Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cauã Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute, Ismael Mandrak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frederico Smith came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Imbituba - FSCMZ's Guilherme Souza. But to his dismay, Guilherme Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Sérgio de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Frederico Smith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guilherme Souza in the 75th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Souza got free with Frederico Smith in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the game, Naldo da Cunha threw the ball into play from the sideline. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Sérgio de Sena quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some careless play in the Clube do Remo MZ defense, Guilherme Souza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frederico Smith. The Clube do Remo MZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frederico Smith should have stopped the shot. Frederico Smith showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Souza in the 92nd minute of the match.
