The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Frederico Smith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Paraíba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Leonardo Marques made a huge save. Nada Pontual F.C's Leonardo Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Nada Pontual F.C from getting a goal against them. Cauã Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Castro in the 16th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Frederico Smith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Afonso Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Afonso Paraíba hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Clube do Remo MZ's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl Bezerra came free, but Frederico Smith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nada Pontual F.C's Leandro Varela got a free kick in the 21st minute. Leonardo Marques made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Afonso Paraíba sent off a good shot on target. After 23 minutes Nada Pontual F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Walmyr Dionísio who took care of the corner kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Clube do Remo MZ's Afonso Paraíba slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leonardo Marques. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. Ian Queiroz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Allan da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Afonso Paraíba came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Clube do Remo MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Paraíba couldn't finish the play. Jarbas Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. When Walmyr Tasso fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nada Pontual F.C's protests and gave Walmyr Tasso a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Nada Pontual F.C got a freekick which was hit by Walmyr Tasso. Leonardo Marques was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Walmyr Dionísio. Luiz Fernando Britto's late challenge caught a Nada Pontual F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luiz Fernando Britto helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raúl do Valle made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Allan da Silveira made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nada Pontual F.C's Leonardo Marques tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Nada Pontual F.C getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Marcelo Vianna hit a great ball. Nada Pontual F.C's Leonardo Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan da Silveira in the 65th minute of play. Benjamin Tande hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute Afonso Paraíba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonso Paraíba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 83rd minute, Afonso Paraíba made a precise shot to the right of Leonardo Marques. Nada Pontual F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After 86 played minutes Clube do Remo MZ got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Paraíba. Frederico Smith showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl do Valle in the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Allan da Silveira hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Clube do Remo MZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nada Pontual F.C had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
