When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jörn Svartengren sped through Loco De Remate's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Walmir Catarinense. Lorenzo Acutain made a great header on Inter de Guayaquil FC's corner, it was just that Loco De Remate's Walmir Catarinense managed to reach the ball for a save. 13 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Hellkvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hıdır Namal. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rene Aires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Salvador Musacchio kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. A hard shot 55 in the game by Jörn Svartengren from a close distance when the talented Walmir Catarinense managed to make a qualified save. Loco De Remate's players were relieved. After 58 minutes Loco De Remate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Salvador Musacchio who took care of the corner kick. In the 61st minute, Rene Aires made a precise shot to the right of Sebastian Hellkvist. Inter de Guayaquil FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Éric Cantona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Loco De Remate made a substitution. Baškim Sumulikovski replaced Laurids Grejsen. Loco De Remate's Feliciano Iratxo was substituted for Hıdır Namal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Hellkvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 84th minute, Bruno Medero got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastian Hellkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clodoveo Christobal, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. With an all-out effort, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Walmir Catarinense threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Éric Cantona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Inter de Guayaquil FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
