An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 2nd minute of play forced Defensores del Ángel Gris's goalkeeper Nicolás DAndrea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 3 minutes into the game, Club El Progreso's Cleto Cordaro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolás DAndrea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Cleto Cordaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolás DAndrea having to make a save. In the 5th minute Cleto Cordaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás DAndrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Indiana Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolás DAndrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Fidensio, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Indiana Jones recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulino Iraitz hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Adolfo Fidensio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club El Progreso's supporters rose to their feet, but Adolfo Fidensio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolás DAndrea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benjamin Tino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eleuterio Chabier in the 19th minute. Nicolás DAndrea came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Club El Progreso's Cleto Cordaro. But to his dismay, Cleto Cordaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Indiana Jones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nicolás DAndrea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolás DAndrea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Indiana Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Benjamin Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Catranides in the 32nd minute of the match. Andres Reynardo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Nicolás DAndrea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Indiana Jones, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolás DAndrea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Indiana Jones in the 37th minute of the match. In the 40th minute Ioan Cândea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolás DAndrea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Marco Gabon put in a rough tackle. In the 46th match minute, Defensores del Ángel Gris was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Gabon to maneuver through the defense. Bonifacio Txindoki struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Nicolás DAndrea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club El Progreso. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafim Catranides was the one to do the kick off. In the 84th minute, Club El Progreso's Washington Papa fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Nicolás DAndrea was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. With his leg Nicolás DAndrea managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Club El Progreso's Indiana Jones fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 91 minutes into the match, Washington Papa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicolás DAndrea, 0-5. Matías Kranevitter hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Club El Progreso's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
