In the 16thth minute of the game Sven-Edvin Dalgren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Racing Club【LBF】's Cláudio Taffarel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Racing Club【LBF】:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Racing Club:s goal. The audience was convinced that Antonio Ubarna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Taffarel was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Atilano Eufemio's late challenge caught a Racing Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Racing Club【LBF】. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Marco Nisio took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Cláudio Taffarel to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Racing Club's Carolo Indalecio got a free kick in the 98th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Racing Club had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
