Faustão de Moraes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Aguiar in the 54th minute of play. Benny Stolpe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Romário in the 67th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Salvador Caeiro put in a rough tackle. Faustão de Moraes had in the 71stth minute some difficulties stopping Elias Vale's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Benny Stolpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Romário, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. When Sandro Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Joinville S.German-FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Aguiar couldn't finish the play. Joinville S.German-FSCMZ made a substitution. Vladimir Albuquerque replaced Freddy Basajaun.
