After a defensive mix-up in San Mauro A Mare FC's zone, Kim Bolas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Mitovski came out of the goal and Kim Bolas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mike Axisa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Levent Hicran went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Rogério Mitovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gábor Illés, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When Attilio Di Renzo fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Mauro A Mare FC's protests and gave Attilio Di Renzo a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot by Giovanni Demicoli from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Rogério Mitovski's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Levent Hicran made the kick off in the second half. The San Mauro A Mare FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Mauro A Mare FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
