The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wágner Andrade scored 1-0 in the 3rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Renan Melo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Wágner Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Melo came out of the goal and Wágner Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardinho Sharkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aykut Canel in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute Aykut Canel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Sharkin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wágner Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 minutes, Charlie Boström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.A. Francana and the Desportivo Coala players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Charlie Boström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernardinho Sharkin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Campos in the 21st minute of play forced Desportivo Coala's goalkeeper Bernardinho Sharkin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute of the match, Wágner Andrade tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Renan Melo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Wágner Andrade struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Renan Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Desportivo Coala. Bernardinho Sharkin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Boström in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes Desportivo Coala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bartosz Bereszynski who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to A.A. Francana's Charlie Boström getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Wágner Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Melo having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Erik Souza put in a rough tackle. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wágner Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. Aykut Canel might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardinho Sharkin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aykut Canel ran back to his position shaking his head. If Bernardo Bettencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, Aykut Canel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bernardinho Sharkin. The goal made the score 2-2. A.A. Francana's Bernardo Bettencourt got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's goalkeeper Bernardinho Sharkin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardo Bettencourt. Aykut Canel in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bernardinho Sharkin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bernardo Bettencourt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Sharkin having to interfere. With a little luck, Desportivo Coala's Bernardinho Sharkin got control of the ball when Bernardo Bettencourt tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Wágner Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Desportivo Coala's supporters rose to their feet, but Wágner Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renan Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Renan Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
