Vykan Víkingsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, October 04's goalkeeper Eskil Vester had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by 詹俊 á Bø. Emilio Cascajares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Vykan Víkingsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Wellington Phoenix getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Sandro Trigo hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Thorben Grill came free, but Vykan Víkingsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29thth minute of the game Emilio Cascajares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wellington Phoenix's Vykan Víkingsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 32nd minute Teofilo Unai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Vester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 minutes October 04's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jaume Roure who took care of the corner kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teofilo Unai in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eskil Vester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vykan Víkingsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Cascajares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Wellington Phoenix players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. October 04 were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilio Cascajares to strike the kick off in the second half. Claudinei Custódio made in the 51st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Thorben Grill immediately put the ball in play. Eskil Vester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 詹俊 á Bø, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 62nd minute, Emilio Cascajares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to October 04 getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Claudinei Custódio hit a great ball. Vykan Víkingsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, 詹俊 á Bø put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Eskil Vester. October 04 made a substitution. Luís Paulo Pernambucano replaced Aníbal Correia. Eskil Vester came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Wellington Phoenix's 詹俊 á Bø. But to his dismay, 詹俊 á Bø quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 79 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Vladimir Couto. Vykan Víkingsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Andrey Nazarov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute of the match Jaume Roure sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eskil Vester skillfully saved the ball. After 88 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Zonta. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Emilio Cascajares took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Vykan Víkingsson to make any attempt to save it. Emilio Cascajares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vykan Víkingsson having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
