Johannes Stein hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Juan do Vale came free, but Régis de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Leonardo Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilson Andrade. Régis de Queirós was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Wilson Andrade capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal.
