Francana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for A.A. Francana. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.A. Francana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wilson Andrade was slow to take the kick. During this time GLADIADORES's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Wilson Ramalho heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A.A. Francana's Renan Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Andrade in the 8th minute of play. After 10 played minutes A.A. Francana got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Bettencourt. In the 11th minute Sérgio Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.A. Francana's Renan Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Andrade in the 14th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Wilson Andrade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Renan Melo was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 33rd minute Juan do Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renan Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan do Vale in the 34th minute of play. Renan Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Renan Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Andrade in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
