Palmeiras's Régis de Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Murilo Lucas in the 5th minute of play. Arlindo Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Passos in the 8th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Antônio Carlos Bueno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 23 minutes into the game, Bernt Jønsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AF CERRADO the free kick. Bernt Jønsson kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The supporters of Palmeiras booed when AF CERRADO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Bittencourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Marcos Paulista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Régis de Queirós saved Palmeiras from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kléberson Neiva during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kléberson Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Bueno in the 47th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antônio Carlos Bueno to strike the kick off in the second half. Antônio Carlos Bueno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Luiz Fabiano Passos got a free kick in the 80th minute. Régis de Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Antônio Carlos Bueno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis de Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. AF CERRADO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
