Gianluigi Donnarumma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 45th minute Geovanildo Luis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluigi Donnarumma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geovanildo Luis made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Geovanildo Luis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. That made the score 0-4 after 86 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Cearense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haji Sarap was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. 93 minutes in the game, Adhemar Santos fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gianluigi Donnarumma having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Horácio Abraão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5.
